We seem to get the same questions over and over again. That is ok! We are a patient bunch and just love helping out no matter how many times we need to answer the same question. I thought it would be a good idea to put some of these questions in a blog so here we go….
1. Do you charge for your junk removal services?
Yes we do but our prices are very competitive. We are a private company and not affiliated with the City.
2. Where do you take the junk?
It really depends. If we can recycle, such as concrete, e-waste or drywall, we will take it to a location that will recycle your material. Items that can be donated can be delivered to Habitat for Humanity or Furniture Bank. Plain garbage is dropped off at a transfer station.
3. Why is there a weight charge with your self service bin rentals?
This is the cheapest way to charge. We do not build weight costs into a blended price because we feel you should be charged with exactly what you are putting in the bin. All junk removal companies are charged by weight so a blended price will usually take this in account and will mean higher prices for you.
4. Do you take paint cans?
Sorry we can’t take them. The Ministry of Environment will not allow us. You can put them out with your regular garbage with the lids off and dried out. If your paint can’s are full, please contact your municipality and ask for where you can drop off hazardous waste. Dial 311 in City of Toronto.
5. Are you licensed and insured?
Why, yes we are. We are $5 million liability insurance and are licensed by Ministry of Transportation and Environment.
6. What is a metric tonne?
A metric tonne is 1000 kg or 2204 pounds.
7. Do you give a time when the self service bin will be delivered?
We deliver and pick up bin rentals based on best routing. It is best to get the bin delivered and picked up on the day before and after you will need it. You do not need to be home for pick-up or delivery.
8. Can I put the self service bin on the street?
Yes you can but it requires a permit from the City. A form will need to be filled out. Here is the Street Occupation permit for the City of Toronto.
9. How much space does the self service bin take up?
It will take 15 feet in depth (street to house) and 9 feet in width. This is the whole space of a spot in a parking lot.
10. Can I get same day service?
Yes most of the time we can provide same day service but booking as early as possible will ensure that you get the time slot or bin size you need. Spring and summer are our busiest seasons so be sure to order in advance.
